    65 mystery part

    Hello,

When I bought my 65 the drivers door and RH headlamp motor were apart. I have put everything back together, but I can't account for this piece, any ideas? It is possible it is off another area of the car I guess. Strikes me as something that would go in a door.

    thanks in advance.

Looks like it might be the inner bracket for the door mirror

Isn't Minnesota referenced as America's 'north coast' a stretch?

I'd say those States bordering the Great Lakes (Michigan, Ohio, New York and New England) can legitimately make that claim whereas Minnesota might have a few inland lakes strategically placed that would qualify...

        That was my guess too.

          Hi Jack,

Thanks for noticing my signature. I'm sitting here 2 miles from the largest body of freshwater on the planet. If it was drained and spread out over the entire US, your yard would have a foot of water on it.

We eke out a meager existence in this frozen wasteland smack in the middle of flyover country. Lake Superior is pretty much all we have, besides trees and a few iron mines.

OK, it's a little tongue in cheek.

          Where are you at?

            John,

Here is a picture of my 66 mirror mount . To me It looks different from the part you have, but we are 1 year apart. Do the holes match up with the rivet holes in the door and with a side mirror ? Hope this helps you fiqure out your part.

I felt up inside the door when I had the panel off, and the bracket was in place, so I did not really bother to get up in there and look at it.
