Stainless T- Replacement/restoration

I have a 69 T-Top that needs a new stainless T. This is the center T section of the stainless top that the tops ride on. The piece is not in bad condition overall, but someone has drilled several small holes in the aft portion of it. I would prefer to buy a new reproduction piece, but I have not found a supplier. The next alternative would be to have the holes welded up and then worked down and polished. Anyone have ideas on this endeavor?...... Suggestions on a supplier for a new part or suggestions for a stainless restoration service would be helpful.

I might be wrong but I think that piece was unique to 68-69 and isn't reproduced. I suppose that if the holes aren't too big then welding them might work but the best bet might be to just try and find a nice original one.

Hi Brad,
I agree with Greg that there isn't a reproduction being made at this time. Used pieces are readily available in fair condition for reasonable $. They can then be repaired and polished to the degree you want and for how much money you want to put into them.
Some people believe the SS was flash chromed to better match the the 4 pieces of chrome trim the large piece abuts, 2 on the header and 2 on the halo.
Polishing SS is something you can do with success at home. However, this piece is a little tricky because of it's rather large flat surfaces.

Since it appears that a used replacement is the best way to go, any ideas on the most likely suppliers that might have the stainless T in very good condition?

Check Carlisle or Bloomington, and evaluate them in person. I'd say it's the best way to go if you can.
