Thanks, everyone. It confirms some of the information I found also. Here are some pictures of the manifold. I tried to show where the number sequence is different than what I have seen. Paul

This is definitely an original GM piece; no way it's a reproduction. The configuration of the "1 to 8" series of numbers on the underside of the manifold is different than I've seen. However, this must be something that varied for whatever reason. There are often differences in castings that occur over time.

I have seen a lot of re-pop parts in my day , but not a LS6 vette intake

I've only seen one. It may not have been a "GM-authorized" piece but I can tell you it was perfect in every way I could see. I almost bought it; I wish I had (although I don't know why). It was being sold by a major Corvette parts source but I'm not going to say who it was. It was NOT one of the full line Corvette vendors like Dr. Rebuild, Paragon, Corvette Central, etc., though. I asked the "head guy" if they sold the one I was looking at, would I be able to call them and get one later? He thought about it for a few moments and then told me "probably".
