    non working power windows

Finished rewiring the car with "Lectric Limited" complete 67 wiring harness. Cant get the PW's to work. There is power at the fuse panel, power on both sides of the circuit breaker and power on the hot wire in the relay. Should there be power on all three positions of the three pronged harness that plugs into the relay? I have tried a new relay, no luck.

Ray make sure you have a good ground for the system try using a jumper ground to the motors if it then works its a ground issue. Paul 18046

Paul, thanks for the input. If you jump the hot to hot in the harness the windows will work. Are these motors grounded any place specific?

These are DC motors with their winding center tapped (one connection at each end and another in the center). The center is grounded in the door panel via the motor wiring harness.

When you thow the switch to actuate the motor, you're applying B+ to one end of the motor's winding or the other which drives the motor CW or CCW depending on which end is energized...

This what I did today. If I jump a lead from the red wire in the relay harness to the other red in the harness (the one that goes to the window switch) the windows will work. Also the brown lead that goes to the radio capacitor will carry power with the ignition on.

I have tried 2 relays, hard to believe that both are bad??
