    69 wiper door trim

I recently noticed a 69 vette wiper door on ebay for sale that has wider chrome trim than the one on my car. I'm trying to figure out whether mine is correct or not? Does anyone know which year used that wiper chrome trim on the edge nearest the glass.

    Jim----

68-72 were all the same with respect to the windshield reveal moldings. There was no chrome, at all. The moldings were stainless steel. However, the very "lip" edge nearest the window was unpainted, the remainder was painted body color.

Since this whole piece is stainless some people think it looks better if the paint is stripped and the whole trim piece is polished. Maybe that is what you saw?

Thanks for the responses. From both of you said, I'm guessing that 69 wiper door originally came completley painted except for the little lip along that rear edge. Jim

          Hi Jim
There is a difference between the 68 and 69 wiper door stainless trim.

68 wiper door stainless door trim is not riveted at the ends.

69 to 72 wiper door stainless door trim is riveted at the ends. Also the hole where the rivet goes through is not a single round hole but an elongated 1/4 inch hole where the stainless trim could move forward or back about 1/16 of an inch.

I just sold a 69 wiper assembly so make sure you ask all questions before buying.

          Thanks, grant
