The ac in my 70 was disconnected when I bought it. There are three vacuum lines entering the engine compartment via the firewall. One goes inside the passenger fender to a valve there. According to assembly manual that is correct. The other two lines go nowhere in my car. Best I can tell from assembly manual, one should go to the heater control valve at bottom of ac box, and the other goes to vacuum source. Does anyone know which hose goes to ac box and which to the vacuum source? Where would the vacuum source connection be - should there be a tee somewhere on manifold? Advice and pictures would be greatly appreciated. Steve

Re: ac vacuum lines in engine compartment
Steve,
Not sure if the color codes are the same but on my 69 the three vacuum hoses entering the engine compartment are:
Green stripe - goes to the outside air valve in the fender
White stripe - goes to the hot water shutoff valve on the evaporator case
no stripe - goes to the vacuum source.
I will post a diagram as soon as I can scan it in.
<edit>
Even better! I just found a link to the diagram for a 1970 at Willcox corvette.

Re: ac vacuum lines in engine compartment
Thank you Jay. How does the source line get connected to manifold vacuum? Any pictures of an actual set up so I can see what T's or fittings are used and how to route the hose? My car is a 70, BB, ac, and power brakes. Steve- Top

Re: ac vacuum lines in engine compartment
Steve,
I believe this is how it was hooked up from the factory. I hooked mine up when I replaced all of vacuum lines with a Doc Rebuild kit and as I recall the hoses were already cut and the "correct" vacuum fittings were in the kit. The "T" fitting is a special one that accommodates different hose sizes on each side of the "T". THe fitting is item I on the Doc Rebuild page: http://www.docrebuild.com/dr-r-web/2771329.HTML
