    C1 Battery Ground Cable Repair

    Didn't want to hi-jack Lynn's thread.

My '57 battery ground strap has at least half the strands broken where the woven cable is attached to the clamp. Has anyone ever cut out the broken piece and reattached the cable and clamp? Any tricks to remember? Due to the age and likely brittleness I would use it for show and another for driving.

    Thanks!

The cable was inserted into a mold and the "clamp" was molded around the cable under pressure. I do not know of an effective repair process for the flat braided cable to be reattached to the cable end.
