    The 63 steering column is not a very complicated part. All of the parts are available from the regular vendors. The Long Island Corvette web site has a blow up of the column and shows where the parts go. You might want to give it a try yourself.
    I replaced the lower bearing and the upper bearing and a damaged canceling cam. There really isn't much else there.
    I am not aware of any vendors that rebuild them.

        Terry;

        If you can take it out, you can rebuild it. No sweat.

            Terry, take measurement as to where the interior paint color stops on the jacket, where the black cloth electrical tape goes, etc. Also take lots of pictures.

            Let us know when you ready to put it back. The best advice I have is to only lightly finger tighten all the bolts and screws until you have it in it's final position.

            Good Luck.

              Harry in the pictures that you supplied the question I have does the escutcheon (the black jacket that screws to the bottom of the dash) slide up and down the colunm housing without much effort?

                Bob, it take a good deal of effort to move that piece. I purchased a new rubber seal and metal clip then did not use it as it was too tight. I used the old parts. I did need to use a lubricant (white lithium grease) to move the escutcheon. If I did it again I would use plain old kitchen sink liquid soap.

                  Harry thanks for the quick reply for a while I thought I was the only guy with a stuck escutcheon. After reading your post I went after it with some 3-1 oil and then some wiggling, grunting, farting,sweating, swearing and now the escutcheon slides up and down the colunm housing. Oldbaldbob
