I've been following the other thread about C3 vacuum troubleshooting and was wondering about being able to rebuild the relays.
My 72 just went through a headlamp/wiper door problem.
The left headlight was slow to open and close. The right headlight did not open or close. The wiper door did not move at all.
I started trouble shooting at the headlamps. I took out both headlamp relays and tested them by blowing through the control side nipples. I could not blow though the left side relay (lazy eye). I could blow through the right side relay (dead eye). I installed a new set of GM relays and now my headlamps and wiper door snap open and close like it should and it holds vacuum after I shut the car off.
Has anybody tried to rebuild a relay? I took apart the leaky one and found the rubber dog bone seal to be worn out. Everything else looked to be okay.
