    Engine stamp pad ??

    What was the first year that the car serial # was stamped into the engine stamp pad? Thanks in advance Tom

              The earliest one I have seen is car #1617 built the 1st week of Dec. 1959. These were stamped by hand (without a gang holder). The last car stamped by hand that I've seen is #5879 built the 1st week of April 1960.
