71 BB Radiator Hose #

I have come up with two diffferent rad hose numbers for my 71 BB, auto car with PS. 331876 comes from the GM parts book and 3967433 comes from the LS5 section in the AIM. What is the correct #.

Paragon's catalog shows the 433 as 70-72 all 454's except with heavy duty cooling and the 876 as 73-74 454. I have a 72 parts book at work, I'll check in the morning and see what that lists.

After a quick look at an April 1972 Corvette Parts Book, it lists the applications for 3967433 as follows: 69 Corvette 427 W/H/Per (exc. 3x2); 69 Corvette 427 W/Sp/H/Per; and 70-72 Corvette 454 (exc. H.D. Rad.). Following the 433 is upper hose 3946011 listed for use with 70-71 Corvette w/H.D. Rad.(but doesn't specify which engine, so I must assume that it was used for either engine with H.D. cooling). There is no mention of the of the 331876 in the 72 parts book I have. The 331876 does appear in my June 1976 Corvette Parts Book where it's listed for use with the 73-74 454 only. The 76 book lists the 3967433 and 3946011 with the same applications as the 72 book.

It would appear that the correct upper hose for your 71 BB is the 3967433.

For your application, the GM #3967433 was originally used. The GM #331876 was an upper hose first used for 1973 LS-4 and which became the SERVICE hose for 1969-72 big block applications when the 3967433 was discontinued in January, 1979.
