Re: rear vent and black out paint
As you well know, if you squawk 7700 you WILL get someone's attention. I've used that squawk three or four times in my career and each time ATC has asked me to return to my original squawk.Kramden- Top

Re: rear vent and black out paint
Hi Greg,
I don't know if you've come upon a picture with the grill out.
This is the vent on my 71. I based the black-out on what I observed; it was an original paint car. The black-out in the picture is a bit to precise and neatly done. I believe the main point is that the horizontal 'shelf' had black-out on it and you an see the inner edge of that shelf when the grill is in place.
The screws for mounting the vent have very small heads and I see many cars that have had replacements put in at some point. They were not body color, but had a very dark (black?) finish on them.
Hope this is useful!
