    C3 69 washer tubes

Are the washer tubes attached to the wiper arms on a 69 also painted flat black or are they natural?

    Thanks

    Re: Hotwire Engine

    Jimmy:

Using a set of jumper cables, connect the + side of a battery to the main battery lug on the starter solenoid. I believe it is a 1/4 " copper stud. Connect the - side of the battery and its jumper cable to a good solid engine ground such as a starter mounting bolt or bellhousing bolt etc.

Now use a small jumper wire (14-16 gauge) with alligator clip(s) or a screwdriver, and jump from the + connection on the starter (where your jumper cable is) to the smaller "S" terminal on the starter. That should do it. (I personally use a small remote starter button with wire leads and alligator clips)

Your jumper wire or screwdriver may spark a bit, but it will be fine. Be prepated for engine movement/noise.

The washer tubes are flat black, like the wiper arms -- but I don't think either is painted. It is a plating of some kind, and if you give me a chance to look at the print at home, I'll tell you what it says. I remember it is something we don't usually refer to, but I can't recall the exact name.

How did you get the title of your post to change? I thought that was locked in once you posted -- obviously I was wrong. With a title of "Hotwire Engine" no one will ever find the finish of the wiper arms in the archives.

The Chevrolet drawing shows some parts to be black chromium and some parts to be black sodium dichromate. For the most part the tubing (that part that is not black nylon), arm, levers, backing channel, and bushing are to be black chromium. The blade latch and rivet are to be black sodium dichromate.
