Re: Book on Fiberglass repair
If you can find the first one. " FIBERGLASS BODYWORK by Miles Wilkins" Motorbooks International -Osprey Restoration Guides.A very good book about car bodys, mold making, and repair. The second are a set of books for Corvette bodywork by Ray Schiro. These are the best I have seen for Corvettes. Each group of books covers different years and are filled with very good pictures of the whole process. Glas-Ra Products Inc. www.glas-ra.com is the info from the book.- Top

Re: Book on Fiberglass repair
I have the books by glass ra and they are not bad but I would recommend the video I got from Ecklers on fiberglass repair. I just got it because I need to replace the front valance on mine and a few other luggage rack holes and wanted to get as much info as I can. I have to say watching this guy fix a crack and replace a panel was amazing. He makes it look so simple its scary. I started putting in the missing piece in the front corner of my car and it looks great and it was easy. I have done some repair work before on other fiberglass parts and I see why it didn't work and looked like crap. I was doing it wrong and didn't know the proper technique. If your going to do it I would get both. Reading how it is done is good and seeing it done is the icing on the cake! One funny thing on the video is to watch this guy put his sleeves on because he says you don't want to get fiberglass on you skin and then he sticks his head in a fender and starts grinding away and doesn't even wear a dust mask! I guess is bad for your arms but ok for your lungs. It's not a long video but I learned a lot from it. I got the interior video from them and I hope it is just as good.- Top
