Oil and TH 400 Dispstick Tube Finish

I am getting ready to send out the oil dipstick tube to be replated with a tin plating for my BB 71. Wondering if the handle od the dipstick is also suppoosed to be tin plated and what is the finsih on the dipstick tube and handle of the dipstick for the TH 400 for this year of car is. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

There was a thread a while back...there was some consensus that the tube was natural. I am doing mine and I have a soft plating on mine. (71, one owner, trans never out of car) The small part that goes in the transmission and the area under the dipstick ( areas not prone to aging) has an appearance of a brown colored finish. The other areas have this soft plating on them, that has turned dark grey over time.
