2010 Camaro Engine/ Corvette Engine or or not??

The 2010 Camaro engine for the SS model claims to be all aluminum 426 HP. Is this the LS3 similar to the Corvette engine? How about the transmission choices: Corvette also? I previously owned 2 Camaros. 69 and 70. I like what I see. I saw a Yellow 2010 Camaro at the Las Vegas BJ auction. The car was larger than I cared for but the styling was nice. Could not see the engine compartment. Anyone? Thanks DG

Rick Hendrick was in Oshawa, Ontario on Monday to pick up serial number 001 and 002.

My wife and daughter both love to drive manual transmission cars. So if I jumped it would be a manual tranny. I do wish Chevy would give a buyer individual choices in the options. In order to get the console (69 style) gauges you have to jump up to the highest price package. That highest price package includes options I would never want in a muscle car. Black with Silver hood stripes looks great or just all black and I can add the stripes the way I like. Yes, not Original. DG

the packages help GM know how many of this or that to buy from the suppliers. if everything was a option there would be too many combinations to keep track of. mrs clem drove stick shifts when were first married in 1959 because i never bought a auto trans till 1970 when i bought a new 454 450HP chevelle with a THM 400.

Can you post some pictures and first impressions of driving and handling? Your friend Rick must have connections. When are the covertibles and Z28 coming out? I hope chevrolet sticks in the Z06 or ZR1 engine for fun in one of the upcoming models. My friend's wife bought him a new Camaro for their wedding anniversary. He won't see it till this summer. If anyone has any pictures please post. DG

Rick Hendrick, of Hendrick Motor Sports, think Jeff Gordon, Jimmy Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr & Mark Martin...is also a large Chevy Dealer and bid on the rights to 001 and 002 at Barrett Jackson...he's also an NCRS member!

i will get the V-6 with a auto to replace mrs clem's impala as i already have a 430 HP stick shift corvette. the "new" govt we have may tax the gasoline up to $4/5 a gallon and the V-6 gets 29 MPG the same as mrs clem's impala. i will order a crystal red metallic color to match the corvette.
