67 Jack Board Carpet Trim - What to Do?

Quick question on the carpet trim around the 67 jack board piece. At the back center where the trim meets are two free edges. How do I finish these off? Cut them? See pics.

They are tucked around underneath, between the board and carpet.

Thanks. My old carpet did not have them. Is that suppose to represent the original way it was done?

Anyone got a pic of what it looks like after they two ends are folded under? Thanks.

Yes, here's a pix from an untouched '65 where the front center carpet on the jack board has been lifted... As stated by others, you simply fold the excess back under!

            Here is one in position.
Please note Jack's comment that this seam is in the center of the FRONT edge of the board.

Thanks guys, those solve the problem. I will be gluing the carpet down to the jack board and kick panels this weekend, and starting to glue the underlayment in as well. More pics to come.
