I think it was about 1 1/4" X 6".
I'll see if I can find some info on it.- Top

Re: sticker placment on 66 BB radiator shroud
Thank you, Michael. We will continue the research.
William, the three "DF" stickers did not appear until '67.
Left outside, Top center, inside and right center outside.
Don't worry about it, the repop adhesive is so weak that they will blow off almost immediately.

William
My early March built '66 big block had/has 3 white stickers on the fan shroud.
I don't remember exactly where they were placed but I think I have some pics somewhere of the original stickers on the shroud from when I restored the car.

I see no reference to this sticker in the 66 AIM though. I suppose the sticker was deleted some time during the model run.
Also notice the correct clamp on the radiator overflo hose.
Also, the black air cleaner lid and carburetor bowls/fittings from a 65 396 car.Last edited by Michael H.; September 17, 2009, 10:26 PM.- Top

Re: sticker placment on 66 BB radiator shroud
Normally, there would be a revision showing that part number xxxxxxx was removed but since the entire sheet was "redrawn', I suspect that this info was also deleted.
I have an original/genuine GM 66 AIM and if I remember correctly, both the original sheet and revised sheet are in it. The manual is still in the frozen north so I can't look but I vaguely remember seeing the "sticker removed" note.
By the way, that overflo hose clamp is correct too. I know of a few unrestored cars that still have their clamps.
I'm surprised we haven't heard any comments on the 396 style Holley carburetor bowls yet.- Top

Re: sticker placment on 66 BB radiator shroud
I do have at least one pic of an original clamp in "the big picture box". If I get time, I'll see if I can find it and possibly others.
I vaguely remember it being similar to the small coolant supply tank to radiator house on small blocks? It was too big in my opinion. Should have been something like a power brake vacuum hose spring clamp.- Top

Re: sticker placment on 66 BB radiator shroud
Guessing, I would say it was the same as the supply tank to radiator hose clamp used for 63-67 small block.
If I remember correctly, the Carl Strohm (sp) 425 HP car had the clamp. I don't know where that car is today though but it probably hasn't changed much over the years.
Strange place to put a hose clamp. The 66 BB cars are the only cars I've ever seen with it.- Top

Re: sticker placment on 66 BB radiator shroud
The first is a November 65 picture that shows the white label on the fan shroud. (and several other very interesting items)
The other picture shows the clamp on the radiator overflow hose that I mentioned earlier.- Top
