Please update me on repro N11 exhaust

I read every archived thread I could find, the latest being January 29 of this year, and I'm still a bit confused. As I understand it, Gardners Exhaust and/or Waldron actually developed the latest N11 repro, and both are sold by Corvette Central? If that is correct, how do I know which one I'm getting, or does it matter? FWIW, I find no N11 exhaust on Gardners web site.

I saw some references to a forthcoming change in design by CC; has that been done? Lastly, how likely is it that the N11 muffler from CC will fit my existing tail pipes? Should I just buy the complete set-up instead of just the mufflers?

I know this has been discussed ad nauseum, but I'd appreciate your input. My car is a BB 67.

    Larry,

    The short version:
Two different companies, each developing their "own" version of the N11 exhaust.
Contact Gardner by phone for specifics on theirs as well as purchasing. They are building their own system, i.e. pipes and mufflers.
Waldron's mufflers are being sold through Corvette Central using CC's pipes, and contact CC for specifics regarding that particular system.

If you wish, one of my posts a few weeks ago contained a link to a YouTube video of the owner of Waldron's describing the development of his system. I'm at work now and can't access the link for you.

Thanks, Patrick. I see that I was confused, but your explanation cleared me up. Has anyone tried the two versions and has a comment?

I ordered my N-11 aluminized system from Allen's Exhaust (their version). Has not been installed on car but has all the right bends, comes complete. Believe I spoke with Mike Allen. Priced right quick ship.

Just finished up a 63 340 hp SWC for my Father with the Allen's N11 and it sounds REAL nice. Very close to my 65 N11 L84 car. The difference may be due to a difference in the camshaft. Anyways, it sounds right and fits great

I bought the complete set a few months ago from CC and think I had one of the first few sent out.. While I've heard some originals, I think they sound pretty good.. I'm very happy with the results on my 65..

I just ordered the Gardner N11 set, I will let you guys know how she sounds on my 64'!

It was $100 more then CC but I know Gardner has a great rep in exhausts.

Drove the 64 over 5000 miles to three Regionals and the San Jose National, one dust storm and 40 lbs of bugs!

Hey Dan, did you weld or guiletine clamp the connections that Gardner leaves unassembled (he said we have the option to do either) just curious what's the best way to do it?

Hi Carlo, I assembled the whole system using the clamps on the muffler connections to center it up at the rear, drove to my local muffler/tube bending shop and they tack welded the mufflers, removed the clamps and fully seal welded them in place, there is enough room so you don't have to drop the system, looks like the original. The sound is just like the NOS system I had years ago. I got new rear hangers also and all clamps etc. It all just slips together so nice .
