I Am Happy With These Half Shafts

I thought the membership would be interested to know when a parts purchase ends well. Today I received, from fellow member Greg Gorniak, two restored BB half shafts for my 69 L89. I am happy for a number of reasons. First, they closely replicate, I think, what was installed on the assembly line in St. Louis. They are cut shot peened, partially show the HAZ, are reasonable as far as finish and are not covered with any coating. Greg asked me about the coating thingy and I said, 'let them start rusting'. Kind of sick, ain't it? He did the work in a timely fashion and shipped them well protected. For the record, I am the one that applied the ID markings.

I am always quick to point out (to the seller) when I am not happy with a transaction so I thought I should be as quick in acknowledging when I am pleased.

Greg did mine last year. Besides the beautiful job he did, I'll add that the price was very reasonable and a very quick turn around!

Good question. I am in a slump when it comes to gathering the energy to start restoring it. I thought it might be nice to get the chassis completed and take it to some NCRS meets. I may get that done this year or next. I've got this car and a 69 L89 Camaro that needs to be restored. Between being a husband and dad, an airline pilot, landlord, building contractor, NCRS judge and Bloomington Gold Certification judge, I barely have time to drink beer.

I have, however, been continuously gathering and/or restoring the needed parts.
