Steering Wheel Color

What is the correct steering wheel color for a 1969 Red/Red car? I always thought it was black, but now Ive heard Red. What would a red steering wheel have been used on?

All steering wheels were black for 69.

I believe 1963 used a steering wheel color keyed to the interior.

All 1969-75 Corvette steering wheels were black (rubber). If you're talking about a wheel just like the 1969-75 Corvette wheel except with red or other color (rubber), those were used on some Buick models of the period. I believe these were Skylark models.

Thanks, for the replys. I saw the red one advertised as a Corvette steering wheel, but that did seem odd.
