    C4 Batteries

Anybody know if you can buy a re-pop "correct" battery for a 91 Z?

    Thanks

Ron, I don't think anyone makes a repop and I highly doubt if they ever do. C4's haven't caught on enough for a company to go out and spend mega buks on a repro I was told. I was looking for an original to rebuild for my 84 but gave up. John

Ok so if I put in a DELCO service replacement....I lose 50% originality, but I still get condition points, but if I put in a Wal Mart battery I lose 100% originality AND condition? Am I reading the manual right, judges?

Yes, my crossed flags '89 is perfectly happy with it's Delco service replacement and I did the same search you did. The C-4 was the "experimental" battery car for Chevrolet, and many of the versions did not make it into broad production use in passenger cars, let alone having "perfect" replacements for the Corvette.

I kept my 96's battery for years, but then foolishly decided to throw it away. I only kept the label that was on it, thinking I could find a correctly configured battery later.
Are slightly older Delcos relatively similar to the originals? I still have the second or third battery in the car (an '03 battery I think), and I wondered if it would be worth keeping it to try to gut and reuse. See pics. I know the "eye" is on the wrong side, but is it otherwise similar? Anyone have a picture of a Delco Freedom 75B?

Is this what pic your looking for ? This is the original battery out of my (june built) 84 Corvette. I've saved this battery all these years.

Thanks George but I don't think that's it, because the decal looks different. I'm looking for a picture of a battery that would've had this decal on it:

                John

Be sure to cut the lifting strap off. A 90 ZR-1 lost some points on that at the FL Regional.
