Interior Trim (behind mirror) Painted Over Chrome

Just did a search on this, but found other interesting posts and nothing about this.

I just wonder how many other 1967 Corvette coupes have a chrome plated strip of interior trim above the windshield, but factory painted to match the interior color? This example is black, and removed for the first time this morning.

Another interesting part of this: It's peeling like crazy on the back-side, but sticking fairly well on the exposed areas...

I can take photos if this is of interest to anyone. /td

tom, i believe all the coupes were painted interior color, while the convertibles are polished stainless, i usually dust them lightly in the sandblaster so the paint sticks better, cary
