Carpet Install #2- After Glue Clean-Up Pics

As I mentioned in my other thread, I started cleaning up to get ready to install carpet. Here are some follow-up pics showing the same areas I originally posted, but now they are all cleaned up and ready for Hushmat installation.

    Kirk,
What did you use to clean off the glue?
I'm getting ready to clean up the interior of my 65 coupe tomorrow.

3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner 08984. Order it directly on line at the 3M website and it costs half what it does from anywhere else. Pretty fast delivery too - 3-5 days. I used just over 1 quart to clean my car but I would say that my glue was pretty thin in some areas, so maybe 2 quarts would be best just to make sure.

It will also take off 3M 8001 yellow trim cement without taking the paint. Years ago I cleaned all the unsightly yellow-brown glue on the paint around the rubber moulding on the hood of my 67. UGG Dale

Kirk: I just finished the carpet install on my 67. You got yours alot cleaner then I did. Are you using the pad/insulation fron Al Knoch??
I did the rear first and never opened the bag for the front, I put the black side down. Once I opened the bag for the front I saw that the black side had to go up. I had alot of trouble with the wheels well's I think because I put the insulation in upside down. You know there are no directions. You would think they could use a little sticker "This side up".
The front went in much smoother with the black side up.
          Good Luck

Yes, I will be using the pad insulation from Al, but first I am installing Hushmat to cut down on the heat and noise inside the car. Pics to come! Fortunately for me there was some of the old insulation already in my car so I could see how it was installed. I have saved all the pieces so I can go back and double-check installation and things like hole cuts. Thanks.
