Started Carpet Install Yesterday - Everything Out and Clean

I started my carpet install yesterday by taking everything out including the old carpet and padding and then spent most of today cleaning out all of the glue. As you can see from the pics, the front wasn't very "dirty" at all while the rear area had way more glue. Felt great to get out in the garage finally. I will keep posting more as I progress. I will post some after pics and then I am going to get ready to install my Hushmat before I do the padding and carpet.

      Kirk,

Looking good! Where did you get your carpet from? What are you using for underlayment?

Carpet and underlayment were both from Al Knoch. The underlayment is the "tar" top with padding as backing. I am however going to install Hushmat before I do either of these. I want to cut down on heat and noise (it's a convertible so that part is a bit silly) in the cockpit. I definitely get some heat especially around the transmission tunnel and yes I have heat shields on my exhaust (which help a great deal) and the foil insulation on the underside of the transmission tunnel.

          kirk,

Thanks! I'm planning on doing a carprt replacement on my 1965 Coupe soon and was going to buy my carpet from Al Knoch. Please continue posting pictures as your installation progresses.

          Good luck!

          John
