I am a new member, joined Nov. 08. Just wanted to say, thank you. I have enjoyed reading all the knowledge being shared. I have just recently purchased a 66 coupe that has been in a garage since 1991 from the second owner (needs work). I am glad to own a Corvette again, caught my Corvette fever at age 16 when I bought a used 1963 conv. Thanks again for all the information, I am learning alot. Don B.

my 66 coupe is a 327 air car, orig color Sunfire yellow, 4 speed black int., the interior is all orig. and I would say in very good condition. The engine is the original numbers matching. When I bought the car, it had one green paint job over the original yellow, I have removed about 90 of the paint back to the glass. I am really enjoying the work. At this point I am trying to decide my next steps in the restoration process.

Welcome; is your car early, mid or late '66?

Welcome from a fellow '66 owner. I'm curious to know if your car is an early (Sep-Dec), mid (Jan-Apr) or late (May-Jul) 66. My '66 is late (VIN 268xx) with a July 20, 1966 build date. I'm always interested in finding owners of late '66s, since some items differ from early, to mid to late.

Gary, I am not sure on all the numbers and what they mean yet. The build date code on mine is G22, this means Feb. 22 ?? the body number is A2908.

The A means it's a AO Smith body, and for AO Smith cars the G means it was built in February. No a mid-66 build date, not early, not late.

Mine is a May 23, 1966 build date. Let me know if you would like to compare notes on anything. Also, I have been corresponding with Francis Ford via PM, he also has a late 66.

I also have a 66 coupe,mine is a st louis June 6th build
vin 23,4xx.considered a late car.Joe,Gary,and I are comparing
