Crank Position - Fuel Pump Pushrod

Need to change my fuel pump which started spraying gas, fortunately while in the garage rather than on the road. Could have been ugly...

Given the PITA nature of this job, I want to turn the engine so the push rod is fully retracted. (will use the longer bolt to secure it)

Will setting it at the #1 firing position accomplish that?

      Thanks Roy!

Appreciate it. Thought that was the right orientation.

Love your '55 and the Hooter accessories!
