Do you remember "Orange Crush" I am still looking for a picture of it.
    Enjoy!!! Bill

There were a LOT of pretty well known Corvette people helping prepare that white 63 car for judging at the McDorman event. Anyone recognize the guy in the red sweater? He's still involved in the hobby today.

Bill Munzer won a new 1976 Corvette at McDorman's in 1976 with a red '63 FI coupe. His car's preparation is covered in Corvette The Sensuous American Volume 2, Number 1.

By NCRS standards, that car is way over-restored.

That ranks right up there with having pictures of someone with a goat.

I won't put it back in the big picture box for a few days. I might get a good offer on it.

Too bad David doesn't stop in here. Maybe I'll send it to him.

                    Michael,

You like like me...at work. David looks like I would want to look...at work.

Great picture Mark. You look like you're having a good time.

I've worked with David on the 67 L88 at his house decades ago and even then, he looks like he was dressed for church. Not a thread out of place.

While selling new Corvettes in the 70's at Palmyra Motors Inc. I did happen to see one that I remember was perfect. Yeah.... a St Louis Corvette. I ordered the car for stock (1975 Corvette Coupe/ L48, auto)and just so happened to sell it to a guy who owned a business in Palmyra. It was perfect, perfect body panel fit, perfect paint (code 42) Bright Green/ Silver Leather. Perfect ! Never saw another Corvette that came thur that nice. Always wondered if someone at St Louis paid special attention to that Corvette while it was being built. It was beautiful. I sold the Corvette on 4/14/75, it was vin # 1Z37J5S421319. I said to the owner at the time, "you have the best Corvette that I have ever saw come out of the factory". Anybody know where it is I'd sure like to know. (The owner used it as a everyday driver, winters included in Western , New York. It must be junk now.) Never forgot that Corvette. Keep driving them. Save the Wave.>George

I believe the "Orange Crush" '76 you are referring to is the one owned by Abby Miller of Minnesota. (she is involved with Bloomington Gold today, as I saw her there in June wearing the white uniform) I recall the car from years ago as I had a new white '76 at the time and hers was certainly approaching 'perfection'. Northway Auto Body did the body/paint and they are no longer in business. Vette Vues magazine among others did a feature on it at the time-maybe someone has an old copy for reference.

Something just occured to me. There's no such thing as "over restored".

You can only restore something back to it's original configuration. If that something is 100% back to it's original configuration, it's 100% restored. You can't go any further. You can't "over restore" it.

If you make it better than it was in it's original configuration, you've missed the target and it's going away from restored.
