62 chassis parking boots. Where do they go?

I have two parking brake boots. I am trying to figure out where they go. Do they go where the parking brake cables connect to the chassis?

You can see a boot on the left parking brake cable of my 56 here.
The boot is just to the right of the muffler and just ahead of that bracket where the bacle housing is attached. This is NOT the best picture, but it's the only one I have handy. If you need a better picture, let me know and I'll take another one.


To get the boot onto the cable, you must disconnect the forward end of the cable. Shoot lots of spray silicone (or a good rubber lubricant) into the boot then slide it over the stud on the end of the cable. Yes, I realize the hole in the end of the boot is much smaller than that threaded stuc, but it will expand enough to go over it. Just be careful and go slow with it.
The big end of the boot simply slips over the end of the cable housing which sticks through the frame bracket. There is no clip or anything else to retain the boot on the end of the cable housing.

Okay, I was not sure if the boot was suppose to go into the frame bracket. I ended up putting some lithum grease inside the boots. Thanks for the pictures and the reply! Always helpful to see a picture.
