c2 hard top interior detail

was the frame of the hard top painted interior color? i am restoring a top for my 66 and it has a white interior. the top i have has a black interior and the frame, as well as trim, is black. also the top says "white" "381" i assume white was the exterior color but does any one know what the 381 stands for? i think it is a 65 top.

381 should be the cars job number. If the top is original to your car, the same number should be written on the inside door fiberglass, the bulkhead behind the gas tank, the firewall, engine side - passenger side footwell and the passenger side footwell inside. Some of these numbers may be hard or impossible to see due to time and overspray.

Yes, the white means the exterior color to be painted.

thank you, this is not from my car. any thoughts as to the color the frame should be for white and at what point of assembly of the top trim it was sprayed?

Have a white/blk interior 64 - hardtop has white headliner and white metal trim parts on the inside - black on outside.

you mean the frame work of the top? i seems when i look at red ones on line the frame is red as well. for instance where the latches bolt on.

it apears to be painted the interior color so i guess now the question is if 450 is blue/white what color is the frame?

it apears the interior color dictates the frame color.
