    Headlight switch on a 55

I was driving home last night in my 55, and the headlights went off about a block from my house. I checked all the connections, and everything is ok, but I wasn't getting any power to the lights. I disconnected the light blue wire from the light switch, and I get power at the switch. When the wire to the lights is connected to the switch, there is no power. I connected the lights directly to the red wire feeding the light switch, and the lights are on.
I think that I need a new switch, but I just wanted to check to see if anyone else has had this problem?

remove the switch, bend tabs to allow remnoval of the bakelite-like plastic portion of the switch. then you can clean and lubricate the contacts within the switch. i'll guess that'll cure the problem.mike
