coil springs - 1972 small block

What finish/color are the front coil springs on a 72 small block car. Mine have some minor rust, etc on them and would like to clean them up to as near original as possible. Does any one have a pictue or pictures they could share?

    Thanks

Michael Hanson used to post some pics of the Corvette line which showed this. To approximate the finish, have the springs shot blasted (not bead or sand) and then spray with CRC 350 or 400, or cosmolene, or similar. You'll then have the correct finish.

Coil springs - dipping in WD-40

All of us with springs to prep should on one day and have a dipping party since it should take about 5 gallons of WD-40 to do be able to complete the dip process.

I don't think that WD-40 is thick enough nor would last long enough. The CRC products would work well - and just like WD-40 you can just spray it on.
