C1 steering third arm brg replacemant

I've searched the archives for info w/o result
Has anyone replaced the third arm brg and stud ? remove support brkt first ?
Any advice would be appriciated.

I am sure you will find the instruction you need in the ST-12 manual, or Corvette Servicing Guide, which is available for purchase thru NCRS and other sources. It is a valuable source for any early Corvette restorer.

I would take it off as one unit then get the old bearing out on a workbench. The bearing is a pain to get out. It takes some work.

remove the support bracket from the frame then remove draglink and tie rods from the third arm.

To remove the bearing. From the ST-12

"1. Remove grease and dirt seal. 2. Remove snap ring from inside arm opening. 3. Place nut on stud and lock nut securely in a vise. 4. While holding other end of arm, use a hammer and tap around arm opening to remove stud and bearing."
