    69 T-Top stainless/windshield trim sealant

Does anyone know where I could find some of this silver/grey "cosmetic sealant" for my windshield stainless?

I remember years ago that it may have been used on my little aquarium to seal a leak but I checked the pet stores today with no luck. I also seem to remember seeing it in caulking tubes fro sealing roofs so I checked out Home Depot today and came up empty there.

Does anyone know where I can find some of this stuff?

    Hi Greg,
I posted in thread a few weeks ago about using 'fabric paint' from the crafts store. It comes in a small plastic bottle and has a nozzle that allows you to squeeze out a nice even bead. The 'paint' is VERY thick, almost like a caulk.
I posted two pictures that show it.
    Regards,
    Alan

Thanks Alan that sounds like it might work. Do you know if it's water proof though and who makes it?

By the way, I've had very little luck on finding a suitable damming strip. The closest I got so far was to try and remove it from a busted rear window on another GM car in the wrecker. I managed to get about 2' of useable, original strip and that was it.... Still looking!

        Hi Greg,

Not exactly sure what you are looking for but try an RV dealer. In the past I used a silver/grey caulking to reseal the roof joints on my old travel trailer. It was available in tubes and in quart cans. Don't know if it is still available but it might do the trick for you.

          Hi Greg,
The paint is very strong and dries hard but a little flexible. It is waterproof.
I squeeze a very small bead in place and and then run my finer over it with a clean cloth so it's not 'mounded-up' too much.
What I have is called "SCRIBBLES" Dimensional Paint. The color is... Iridescent Silver. It's in a container that reminds me of a very small Elmer's glue container with a better nozzel. www.duncancrafts. com
          Regards,
          Alan

PS: I have some samples of my original sealer and this color seems very close.

            Thanks guys.

Norm I know of the stuff you are talking about but never thought of the RV dealer so I'll give them a shot. I remember my Dad had some sealer like that years ago for our camper and it came in a large caulking tube. I bet one tube would do 1000 cars!

Alan I'll try the craft store too. I should be able to come up with something now.
