Re: 63 Hood Release Cable Repair
Steve, I've never heard of anyone. The one solution I suggested was to cut and drill out the old wire. Ensure you know the length of the new wire you need, a little longer will be OK.
Take the handle and the new wire to a jeweler and have them silver solder the wire into the handle. Might be expensive. Then sand, clean and paint the handle id needed.
When I broke mine I found a handle in rough shape at Carlisle for $5.00. The wire was the correct length. I sanded and painted and it's been fine for a long time.
Good Luck

Re: 63 Hood Release Cable Repair
I drilled out my handle, filled the hole with JB Weld and forced in the wire. It's worked with no problem for about 3 years.- Top

I was thinking of trying to drill it out and attach a new cable. Never a dull moment!Steve Gansky
