53 - 55 Windshield Surround

Looking to start a project that involves the restoration of a 54...this car needs most everything. I am trying to locate a complete windshield surround...this part does not appear to be in the catalogs as a reproduction piece. If you have one, know of one or if someone is making a reproduction please post. Thanks and I appreciate the help of my NCRS friends as we look to this next project...I have been (and still am) a mid-year guy and this will be the first straight axle project...lots to learn.

Jay's Corvette on e-bay has them now and then He tares corvette apart down to every nut and bolt and takes apart each item and sells them one piece at a time, screws ,clips you name it.

Be prepared for the expense. Windshield trim seems unusually high given that it is rarely damaged or destroyed like side trim. So there must be more windshield trim out there than there are cars.

Thanks for the responses...given that I am a mid-year guy and understand the critical parts for them...I would really appreciate know what parts are considered made with unobtainium. For Example...the doors are on the car, but there is no hardware...are the pieces available to rebuild the doors?

Henry, Be prepared to pay. I have a 55 that I needed some parts for, and it was a considerable expense. A windshield frame will cost around $2,000 to $3,000, depending on the condition. I bought a lot of my stuff off of Ebay. Do a search on Ebay for 54 corvette. Sort the list by highest price first, and you will see them.
