Need to get some information on installing carpet. I have a 1963 Convertiable and have sent off the cluster, clock and radio for restoration. Now I am on to the part that I hope I can do by myself, hopefully with help.
1. Should I use pad? I know that orignally a 63 did not, just wondering.
2. If I get the car judged would they count against the car if I did use it?
3. If I use, do I glue it down to pan and then glue carpet to underlayment?
4. If no underlayment do I just glue foam backed carpet to pan and what is the best adhesive to use?
5. Is there suppose to be a cover in the void where you run the antenna wire and other wires to rear of car? Mine did not have when I took old carpet out but seems like something needs to be there.
6. Has anyone had luck with dying the dash pad skins, not the center buth the right and left pads? Please tell me yes so I don't have to spend $700.00.
Any inforamtion that might be helpfull to someone that has proablly bit off more than he can handle would be greatly appreciated. I do have the assembly manual, judging guide and many other books that I have read. It just seems like none of them tell the entire story.
Thanks in advance.
