    It was Chevrolet procurement policy in those days to tool up multiple suppliers for fasteners - usually three, sometimes more, for each part number.

    In the plants, nobody paid any attention at all to headmarks or suppliers - all that mattered was that the part number was as specified, and the on-line bins were filled by the stockman by part number, with no concern for what supplier's name was on the box. Any bin for one part number of bolt could have three (or more) different supplier's bolts in it, each with unique headmarks.

    We're the only ones who obsess over headmarks.
