    1969 Production ink stamps

Is anyone making the production ink stamps for the diverter valve GJ, the 61 amp alternator SN or NS depending on how you look at it, and the date code on the bottom of the jack tray?

If they are not available, could someone tell me the height of the letters/numbers on each so that I can have some stamps made?

    Try this website: http://broachbuster.com/id39.htm
I can't tell you anything about reputation but I've talked to the owner before, seems knowledgeable.

Thanks Jeff, I hadn't seen that website before.

On another thread you mentioned some errors in the 68-69 JG. I have issues with at least 3 things there. Brake M/C cap wording, washer reservoir markings, and first version steering column interlock sticker wording. Which things have you noticed?

Michael - My current car is largely unrestored. The steering label has 2 versions and I know the dates for these 2 are not correct in the JG. My car is a January 69 build and has the clear label with white text located on top of the column (text matches JG), JG says that my label started in August 69. I saw another tread here with pics of the 2 labels questioning the dates. Another is the JG calls for tower clamps on the over flow hose radiator to tank (should be SAE type D), another is the JG calls for BB AC compressor 5910740 and on the 2 cars I've owned it is 5910693. The jury is still out on the next one though - JG calls for tower clamp on PCV hose termination. Mine has a "older than dirt" spring clamp like the one used on the brake booster hose. I don't have my original MC and can't comment on text there. What's your setup (driveline & options)?

The 1st addition of the column sticker clearly uses the word STEERING. JG says otherwise.

The washer bottle is marked 1 Pint, 2 Pints, 3 Pints, not 1/4 Full, 1/2 Full, 3/4 Full & Full.

The M/C Cover does not use the word ONLY after USE DELCO BRAKE FLUID. Everyone I talk to says 68-69 references the SAE J1703. Only 1967 models did not.

Michael, It seems that between us we have identified 7 variances (so far) to the JG. My guess is that's why it's called a Guide and not Gospel. Your items are different in that all are text related and not production variances like mine.

              Mike,

They are sold on E-Bay, I cannot say if it it 100% correct, but others will be able to say.

Both of those places is me.
I did a lot of research, and copied original diverter valves that I had collected.

I really believe I am right on the money - with these stamps.

                  Jeff,

I'll be ordering a couple stamps from your from your website. Any chance of NCRS discounts?

I'm still looking for a stamp for the Jack Tray. Have you thought about having any of those made?

I have tried to stay away from the dated things -
the special requests will make me crazy.
NCRS discounts - yes, we can figure something out.

                      Jeff,

I was about to order a couple of stamps from your web site. According to the 68-69 JG I need a "CT" stamp for my 1100825 61A alternator. You don't have that one listed. Can you supply a "CT" stamp through your website?

By the way, I was able to order a 10 band number stamp with #2 Gothic numbers to do the date stamp on the jack tray from here http://www.acemarking.com/pullmanstamps.htm .

Yes - there is a special request area at the bottom of each section

No one has ever asked for that code.
There are so many different ones - I still don't know all of them

OK, I need to ask the experts out there. Is the "CT" ink stamp correct for the 1969 1100825 61 Amp Alternator?

That is what page 52 of the 68-69 JG says but I have found several errors in the manual and that makes me clearly understand why it is called a guide and not a manual. Since I am going to restore the ink stamp, I want it to be correct. I don't want to perpetuate bad information.

CT is the code for 11000825 Delcotron.

Mike, I don't know who qualifies as an "expert" here, but is a FAX that says "CPC Engineering Third Floor" across the top good enough? -- or do you need to put your fingers in the holes?

Man do I feel warm all over. Kinda like being 4 years old and peeing in your snow suit.

CT it is then and I'll get back to my "San Jose" punch list.

                              Thanks Terry.
