THE WHITE PAPER PLEATED AIR FILTER A348C I HAVE IN 2-STYLES [1]-DIAMOND MESH AND [1]-SQUARE MESH. WHICH ONE OF THESE IS CORRECT FOR MY QUEST FOR GOLD.

P.S. LOOKING FORWARD TO ADDING TO MY GAS CAP POST BY END OF WEEK WITH BIG NEW WRENCH TO THROW INTO THE RING.....I CANT WAIT IT WILL BE GREAT.

...haven't judged any super low mile or seen any '79/'80/'81 Corvettes for a few years, but all the '78 Pace Cars(super low mile originals)have had the square mesh A 348 C. Since of course '79/'80/'81 Corvettes still in their wrappers aren't as common as '78 Pace Cars or '82 Collector's, I believe the square vs diamond mesh change took place maybe late '78 into early/mid '79. Years ago when I used to judge '78-'82s quite often, I did view a couple of 1,500mi/4,000mi 1980 Corvettes and I remember them not having the square mesh air filter. One thing to remember also is the correct "diamond" filter was of "wire" construction making diamond shapes, NOT this current day "diamond" air filter that looks like the diamonds were "punched" out of a sheet metal band. Recently one of the dealers(may have been Pro Team or Corvette Mike, I think)had a 600mi "time capsule" 1981 Corvette. There is also a collector that has the last St. Louis 1981 Corvette which also is "in the wrappers". It was on display in the Special Collection @ Bloomington when they featured '68 - '82 Corvettes maybe 5 to 7yrs ago?
