I purchased a 1961 Corvette from original owner. The car currently has single 4 barrel carb. Original owner provided me with the factory 2x4 carb/manifold, which is on the window sticker for the car. Owner said the last time this was on the car was back in the 1970s. I wanted to rebuild the carbs myself, but do not see any numbers on the carbs, any idea where the numbers are and who to order the rebuild kit from?

Re: 1961 dual quad carbs
Corvette Central and other suppliers sell kits for the carbs.
It appears that all the WCFB carbs used from 56 to 61 on the 2 X 4 setup use the same rebuild kit.
The correct carbs both should have 1299 on the top of the air horn and 049 on the bodies.
I'm sure you can also get the carb kits at most local auto stores.- Top

Re: 1961 dual quad carbs
If you have the Restorer on CD it has a good article from Gary Hodges on all the casting numbers. Here are the casting numbers. Yours are right.
I bought a set for my 245HP 1960 and had them restored. Was looking for more than a functional rebuild. They came out looking sharp. Have not yet bolted them on.
That's good you got yours from the prior owner. A set of Core carbs and a manifold easily run $3K.Attached Files- Top
