Engine Compartment Damage Assessment - C1

I am trying to determine what damage exists in my engine compartment.

The hole in photo 2 is from the alternator fan rubbing. I will be installing a generator which will prevent this from occuring.

Is the area with fuzz in photo1 damage ?

Not sure what is original St Louis or from Bubba. Please help.

Looks as tho Bubba was trying to make access to the a-arm grease fittings easier......

Can someone please post a photo of their driver's side inner fender so I can make the repair.

Surge tank tries to get in the way on my '62, but I think this will give you what you need, the fender essentially just continues straight down to the same level as the lower existing edge right above the frame. Picture attached. Pic of a '62 but the inner is the same.

Mark, Here's a couple of shots of the cutout on my '58. I have compared it to other unrestored cars including the June built '60 I used to have and they look the same. Basically it's a U cutout that goes to the bottom edge to allow access to the upper grease fitting. I'll see if I can get a better pic tonight for you.
