    Sidepipes

    Gentlemen
I installed aftermarket sidepipes from Corvette America on my 327/300HP-C2 1965.
The sound/noise is a little bit to much compaired to what I have expected.
Any suggestions what could be done to adjust the level.
The look is fantastic but the volume a little high.

    Re: Sidepipes

    Hi Bo:

There's really nothing you can do them, in my opinion. The mufflers interior are just chambers that the exhaust gases flow through to cut down on the noise. If you try anything to cut the noise, you'll restrict the flow and cause back pressure on the engine. Personally, the louder the better. Just turn up the radio a little.

You know what they say Bo..................... If it's too loud, you're too old !!

As mentioned above, not much you can do with your existing pipes to make them quieter. Enjoy the ride !

        Bo,
It could the the CA exhaust system. My 327/300 with dealer installed, back in 1967, exhaust are quiet.
Try re-tuning your car. With side exhaust you may need to re-adjust your carb and timing.

Bo. Would you have a picture of the pipes. Are they 2" ? Did you convert exhaust to side exhaust. Louder the better.

Just drive it when you can have the top down.

            Makes a big difference.
