We got the engine out. Everything went smooth. Total of about 8 man hours which is no record pace but it was our first time pulling a Corvette motor/trans. We enjoyed the process and did no damage to the car or ourselves.

That's Ian Gaston operating the lift. I'll owe him some hours pulling the body on his 59 Fuelie in the next few weeks. Couldn't imagine trying to do this job without help. I don't know how some of you pull this off.

Ian Gaston is representative of the new younger breed of Corvette enthusiasts who will be here long after most of the old-timers are gone. Great to see younger guys coming into the hobby.
When I was in my mid-thirties, I had my mind occupied by something other than classic Corvettes, but now in my mid-fifties, I can't remember what it was.
For time comparison, I hired professional help (2 experienced Corvette mechanics) in pulling my big block with tranny out, and only filled the "assistant" role. From start to finish, was approximately 2 hours, and that included hand cutting some very, very rusty exhaust pipes (no, not original pipes).

Instead of a couple cold ones, Mark and I enjoyed a couple Coke Zeros :P

It was a blast lifting the engine. Mark, you aught to post pics of the interior before you replace it all. The current interior is actually really cool.

Don't go checking out too soon Ridge, we have a lot to learn from you guys
