For once, it doesn't matter who's "in charge". Regardless of who it is they'll be virtually powerless to change anything, one way or another. At this point, it will be what it will be and nobody is going to be able to "stem the tide".

I call it "The Re-Alignment". They managed to hold it off for a lot longer than I thought they would be able to. Unfortunately, that only makes the fall that much more precipitous.

As mentioned in our local newspaper today GM is triming dead weight to survive. No more Hummers, Saturns, Pontiac line cut to two models, etc.
Like you said it doesn't look good for our beloved Corvette. But there is no shortage of new and good used ones around. The younger generation isn't much interested in Corvettes. They like all those noise makers that are so annoying. My son wears Corvette tea shirts to college as our closet like yours is flooded with them. My kid said the other students don't get excited about Corvettes the way he does. Now he is asking when he can drive my 63, the LWC.
Just remember all good things come to an end. You favorite thing today is history tomorrow it seems. JD

Did ya all know that Texas is the only state that can legally secede from the Union? Guess the're giving it serious thought too. When you add it all up, they have all they need but a standing army and even that can be mustered pretty quick as just about every Texan owns a couple guns and lots of amunition. They have all the refineries, they control all the media satellites and they even have a big assembly plant. Wonder if the'll elect George to run the place and keep it safe.
