1967 corvette valve cover question

These are the valve covers off my 67 and my question is about the retainers for the temperature wire. Are the two metal straps supposed to be bent in a U like this or straight to capture the temp wire under.

I really did not want to glassbead them but there is some surface rust that's being difficult.

I can't say for certain, but I believe they look correct in your photos.

John, Are they the correct carburetor studs in your pic. Mine look like they are longer with about 1/4" showing above the nut. Do you recall the length?? Thanks again...
