    California member: inspection sticker placement

Can someone from California remember where on the vehicle the California Highway Patrol placed their vehicle inspection stickers in `67. I am told they were placed on the outside of the glass but don`t know where. I have a vintage reproduction I`d like to put on.

    Thanks, Jim

I finished a California 69 Camaro last year and bought a sticker. After talking to some people I decided not to put it on the car. It was on the passengers side outside and was put on when the car was stopped on the highway. It was not like a regular inspection all cars had to have in some other states.

'doesn't seem like it would last very long on the outside of the glass, but California weather is pretty nice

I got "snared" for an inspection and I had one placed on the windshield of my 1966 Chevelle SS 396 sometime during 1967. It was a small, square sticker made of the same sort of material as is used for the license plate stickers used in California (and, likely, most other states). It was placed on the extreme lower right hand (passenger) corner of the windshield. This program was not in effect for too long of a period. I think it ceased before 1969 or 1970.
