    Help with Louver color

I had the car painted and I have a question on the paint color inside the louvers. The paint job was completed with one louver next to the doors painted the same color as the car inside the louver area. The other 3 are black inside. Is this correct? Also the chrome louver accessory is painted Grey on the inside of the chrome piece. Is this Grey the same gray as the wheel color? Thanks in advance for the help.

On 68-69 Corvettes, the rear-most louver on either side is not an "active" louver (i.e. it is not open). Where the opening would be if it were an active louver is a fiberglass "filler" (an integral part of the panel and not a separate piece) which is painted a semi-flat black.

The other 3 louvers on either side are "active" louvers. So, they are fully open and there is consequently no paint in the opening. The rest of the louver area is painted with the body. With TJ-2 louver trim used optionally for 1969, most of this area is covered, though.

The painted area of the TJ-2 louver trim was painted an argent silver similar to the rally wheels.

I would say it was more semi-flat than semi-gloss. It was similar in gloss level to the lower rocker moldings.

Keep one other thing in mind: the "semi-gloss" of "days of old" was different than the way most paints are described today. Most paints described as "semi-gloss" black today seem to me to be much glossier than the "semi-gloss" of old.
