I don't buy it. No solid reason other than I do not believe those decals are 40 yrs. old.

The white decal doesn't look original to me (too white and the lettering is not crisp enought) but the 350/350 decal sure does look good. JMHO

In regard to the base decal, I've checked the archives for pics... no luck. The venders I checked for repop's have the 3 logo's,( that are vertical and on the right side in my photo), horizontal and across the top of the decal. Which is correct.

BTW, I agree with the fat fonts.

Not correct lid. My 71 uses a flatter lid and a A329C element as the decal you show indicates. The air cleaner shown has a later model lid that uses the A348C filter. Also, shouldn't a 70 350/350 use an open element air cleaner?

I thought the A348C filter was used on the black lids,(73 on). The TIM only lists the A329C element for 70-72. Do you have a pic of your lid by any chance?

BTW,70 L-46 in the 12,000 vin on..... closed element.(with some either way)

I agree that the lid is not correct. As I tend to do, I captured this pick from a web site of a supposed 3397 mile car. Notice the difference in the part number font, thinner. Also notice the crispness of the A in the A329C.

Big difference in the labels, thanks. Is this the lower style lid? when was the change to the taller lid?

I don't know if the 69 is different than the 70 but my 350/350 filter is open all the way around and the lettering for the filter is stamped in black under the top cover. I think if you are able to compare the two photos at the same enlargement the fonts would very close.

You guys are right about the incorrect lid. No way the decal can be right if you have the wrong lid. Sorry for the wrong opinion. The decal on the base is easy to identify as a repro. I was fortunate enough to have owned that 3397 mile car at one point and that is an excellent point of reference.
