    PS Auto Glass

Has anyone ever heard of these guys and can comment on their windshields?

I'm thinking of ordering a dated windshield for my 69 from them. Price and shipping is good and they get their glass from Pilkington so unless Pilkington has a second rate glass just for these guys they must be good.....right?

    Greg,
I would be interested in what it cost for the date codeing as well as shipping to you. I checked out their web site also. Let us know, thanks.

Oh I already checked and that's why I'm all excited about using them.

$200.00 for a tinted LOF logo and date code.
      $140.00 for shipping to Canada.

$340.00 US x about 1.3 for exchange and GST is $442.00 Canadian. Not too bad at all.

Now what's the bad news? This is too good to be true.....

I wouldn't do it without verifying what the tint band at the top will look like, as well as the date code and logo. Too many places this could be the "wrong" windshield for me to buy one without either excellent pictures or seeing one in person.

          Re: PS Auto Glass

In December I had two windshields ordered for customers, one wanted the well known long standing repo glass manufacturers product, dated, tint.

The other wanted the PS Auto glass product, tinted, no date.

I was very impessed with the PS Auto glass, it was flatter than the other, same thickness. I liked it, the dating price add on is not much and I would like to hear some feedback from someone also on their dating quality.

Delivered in 3 days, the other took 60 days. The tint band is the same on both, shape and color. My cost was $200 delivered. Hard to beat and I will buy more!

I do not have the car here any longer to check the manufacturer but if memory serves, it was pilkington. They said when you want the dated piece they simply buff all that off and add whats required.

They also offered me a gasket for $30, I was skeptical but curious so I bought it, its EXACTLY the same as the ones Currently retailing for $60 and up. Again, pleasant surprise!

I saw a Pilkington windshield installed on a C2 at Masterworks and was impressed with the glass other than the black lettered "Pilkington" logo.

              Sorry, can't make it.

Can you get a picture of the details of the window?

Pilkington bought LOF some time back, so the glass itself should be of OEM quality. Haven't seen the dated stuff.

I need one for my 71, I called them last week. What they do is buy a Pilkington windshield and buff the marking off and re-etch the proper logo and date code. $220 plus shipping the guy sounded very credible. I am going to send him specifics from the JM and see what he thinks.

I sent them an e-mail asking for pics of the logo and date code so I'll post the reply when I get it.

                      Re: PS Auto Glass

Well no pics available but he did reply this:
"I really don't have any pictures. I can assure you that you will be happy. The logo is identical to original."

                      So I'll go for it.
Hmmm...not sure why this coming out in blue or even how to change it...

Anyways, just so I don't pick a "wrong" date code, what would be a good date for a car built Jan 31/69?
The glass that I have now is:
                      (drivers, jan-69 NV)
                      (pass, dec-68 VX)
                      (rear, july-68 UX)

I was thinking that dec-68 (VX) or jan-69 (NV) would be a good but my luck I'll get it and then find out that for some reason no windshields were produced at that time! So if either one is a good date then that's what I'll go with.

Any thoughts or am I really over analyzing this?
